You should at least call your vets office and see if they have any suggestions. It is possible he had some type of seizure and you should monitor him very closely for the next few days. There are rare times when dogs are sleeping and they get so animated that they basically walk in their sleep. However along with your conjectures they are nothing but quesses. Depending upon when the last time your dog got a full work-up from your vet ,even if nothing happens in next 24 hours, I would schedule a check-up and make my vet aware of what happened.
