Theists, how do you separate miracles from just improbable events?

It's like doing laundry. The white lies go in with the bleach, the down and dirty stuff gets the hot water treatment, and you need to pre-rinse the really nasty stuff. Then, when done, glory be, all clean. If that isn't a miracle, I don't know what is. Ya know, you really ought to get right with god and for your information, not a helluva whole lot of people survive brain cancer. Sheesh, expecting a miracle puts the jinx on it, don't you know that? You can NOT petition the Lord with prayer. (Jim Morrison - ha ha, case in point.)
