Should the town hall protesters really be hating Bush and not Obama?

Yes, considering that Bush and the GOP Congress put "death panels" into law back in 2003 when they ped Medicare part D. The exact same end-of-life counseling language that the exact same lawmakers (Boehner, Grley, and others) are criticizing Obama for now was in that bill. Why didn't anyone protest Bush's euthanasia agenda?
